As the ball came sailing through the air towards Richie, he knew that what happened over the next few moments could decide the outcome of the game for his team.
With his team-mates all watching him, and a thousand eyes glued to his every move from the sidelines, Richie gulped. His heart pounded inside his chest as he reached his frozen hands into the air to catch the ball. His hands went into a basket to catch the ball. He gulped again to himself his hand slipped on the ball.
He went down into a ruck. A huge hairy arm was holding the strong Richie down. Then the ball was out, finally. Another huge player kicked the ball halfway down the field. They thought the ball was heading out the sideline but Richie divided and slid on the soft dark green grass. The crowd came out of there chairs and jumped up as one. Richie knew it would be a good ending.
